Word Search
Find the hidden words in the letter grid.
About Word Search
Word Search is the classic puzzle you may know from newspapers and puzzle books. Each day there is a theme and a list of 8 words, all hidden in a grid of letters.
Words can run across, down, diagonally and even backwards. Slide your finger from the first letter of a word to the last. When you find one, it is colored in and crossed off the list.
There is a new puzzle every day, the same for everyone. There is no clock and no limit on tries, so you can take it slowly.
How to play
- Find all 8 words from the list. They are hidden in the grid.
- Words can run in any direction: across, down, diagonally, and backwards.
- Slide your finger from the first letter of a word to the last.
- Stuck? A hint shows the first letter of a word, but lowers your score.
Tips
- Pick a word from the list and look for its first letter. Then check the letters around it for the second letter.
- If a word has an unusual letter, like Q, Z, X or J, look for that letter first. It is easier to spot.
- Remember that words can run backwards. You can slide from either end of a word.
- Using a keyboard or a screen reader? Choose the first letter of a word, then the last letter.
Questions about Word Search
How do I mark a word?
Put your finger on the first letter, slide in a straight line to the last letter, then lift your finger. On a computer, hold the mouse button down and drag.
Can I get a hint?
Yes. Tap Hint and the first letter of a word is outlined in the grid. You can get one hint for each word you have not found. Each hint lowers your score a little.
What happens if I choose the wrong letters?
Nothing bad. We tell you the word is not in the list, and you can try again. Wrong tries do not lower your score.
Is there a time limit?
No. Take as long as you like. The game ends when you have found all 8 words.
